It all started in a one red light town in south Georgia. While in high school I was in the FFA and took a liking to agriculture and ag mechanics. I was fortunate to get a small scholarship to further my education in agricultural technology. Shortly after school I joined the United States Air Force and was fortunate enough to be stationed right here in northwest Florida. Hurlburt Field was my first duty station and Duke Field was my second. Navarre was were I moved once allowed to leave the dorms on base. While in the Air Force I traveled all over the world while being a maintainer on the AC130H Spectre Gunship. Also while in the Air Force I worked in the equipment rental and the underground telephone installation fields. Once my active time in service came to an end, I relocated to the north end of Okaloosa County.
Then came a time to start a family and with that came fatherhood, I'm a proud father of 7 wonderful children. I have a strong supportive woman in my life that is always there for me and the kids. My career has been mostly in tractor and heavy equipment repair which has fed and supported my family for decades. The need to serve and give back has always been there. While my oldest played ball I coached little league. Most recently I volunteered as a fire commissioner for the Blackman Fire District. While a commissioner I felt a need to be more involved, so I joined the firefighter side and became an EMR first responder, along with being involved in the Fire fighter organization. I'm also a member of the the local farm bureau and American Legion.
My current occupation is the owner of a small tractor repair company in Baker, FL. I currently hold the position of CEO,CFO, Service manager, Parts manager , Head Mechanic and so on. I understand what it takes to get the job done. Agriculture and the love for state law are at the forefront of my life. I love the smell of dirt, so I'm constantly growing something. We are blessed to live where we can have livestock and grow gardens and crops. Being in the field that I'm in has giving me an opportunity to meet the salt of the earth people throughout district 3.
Knowledge is powerful as is common sense. With my love of the State law and my desire to give back I ran for the Office of County Commissioner for Okaloosa County's District 3. I was unsuccessful in the race but gained a tremendous amount of knowledge with the experience. This is where a new chapter starts, I will never give up on trying help others and give back.
